This year's CEC study trip took us from May 30 to June 2, 2019, together with interested participants to the Russian capital: Moscow! The group comprised 29 people and consisted of graduates and students of our real estate courses as well as RICS members. In addition to relevant excursions, networking and exciting lectures also meetings with interesting personalities were part of the program.

The official start of the field trip was the reception of the Austrian business delegate Mag. Rudolf Lukavsky. He gave us an overview of the Russian real estate market and went into the Russia sanctions. Afterwards there was the opportunity to network beside a buffet of Russian specialties. After the reception, an ImmoABS get-together took place at the end of the day.

On Friday, the new CEO of RICS Russia, Andrei Lukashev, MRICS, CCIM, SIOR and managing partner of ILM, breakfasted with our group at the Hilton Hotel. We had the chance to talk to him about the Russian valuation market.

After breakfast we had a meeting with the staff from Sberbank International and a visit to the Sberbank Museum. Afterwards we received a presentation of the company CBRE in the Moscow office and visited the Moscow City Business Center as well as surrounding buildings.

The first appointment on Saturday was the visit of the shopping center "AFIMALL City" of the company Knight Frank. The "AFIMALL City" is an innovative project of the city of Moscow with the aim to build a huge shopping and entertainment center with all facilities. It is the first place in Russia where the traditional business center has been expanded to include living space and entertainment. The conclusion of the field trip was an approximately four-hour city tour to the highlights of Russian avant-garde architecture carried out by the Berlin architect Peter Knoch.
