The hybrid event brought together more than 50 experts from ten countries to discuss current developments and future directions in the field of building energy performance measurement. The three-day program featured plenary presentations by academic and industry partners, interactive workshops, and focused break-out sessions.

Professor Oliver Englhardt, Head of the Research Unit, delivered an insightful keynote address on the key challenges facing the building sector in the coming years. Rene Kurzbauer and Yousef Al Aidy from the research team presented current projects and methodological approaches developed at the institute, demonstrating innovative strategies for assessing and optimizing the energy performance of buildings.

In addition to many stimulating contributions from participants, the meeting helped to refine the objectives and future goals of the IEA EBC Annex 94.

Hosting the Annex 94 meeting also marked the beginning of a promising collaboration with AEE INTEC (Christoph Rohringer), through which Austria will be jointly represented in the Annex. This partnership is intended as a foundation for future joint research initiatives and collaborations.

The Annex is jointly led by David Allinson (Loughborough University), Cliff Elwell (University College London), and Richard Fitton (University of Salford).
