But turning this potential into real projects requires more than technology. It requires cooperation between the real estate and energy sectors, new approaches to financing, supportive regulation and solutions that work in practice.
The TEB Forum 2026 “Real Estate & Energy” brings these perspectives together for one day at TU Wien. Developers, utilities, investors, technology providers, policymakers, researchers and innovators will explore how buildings can become active energy assets and how the transition can be implemented across Austria and Central and Eastern Europe.
From energy consumers to energy assets
The forum focuses on practical solutions and real-world experience rather than theory. Discussions and case studies will explore:
- Buildings as Energy Assets, including heat pumps, battery storage and building asset flexibility
- Energy Communities & District Solutions, with a focus on district heating networks and local energy markets
- Financing the Energy Transition, including green finance and ESG-driven asset valuation
- Smart Building Technologies and the opportunities they create for a more flexible energy system
The programme brings together perspectives from industry, academia, public institutions and the energy sector, creating space to exchange experience, identify opportunities and connect people working on the same challenges from different angles.
The day will conclude with the Energiepark Limewards Awards ceremony.
