On Monday, the Wastewater Treatment research group led by Norbert Kreuzinger had the pleasure of welcoming a group of PhD students from Environmental Technology - Wageningen University & Research, accompanied by Prof. Adriaan Mels. 
The group has a long-standing tradition of a biannual PhD trips to visit other groups doing similar research. 8 PhD students from Wageningen met 5 PhD students from our team. After a series of presentations and poster pitches, it soon became clear that several of their research questions and topics were a perfect match. After a tour of our chemical and molecular biology labs and technical centre, the whole group came together again to discuss research overlaps and exchange ideas further.
It was great to see the passion of these young researchers, and to witness their network growing through this event.
