New Publication Alert
Persistent, mobile, and toxic (PMT) substances like PFAS pose a significant challenge to the EU's GreenDeal and CircularEconomy goals. This new paper tackles the urgent need for regulatory coherence in managing these substances across the soil-sediment-water system.
We are proud to highlight the contribution of Matthias Zessner and Steffen Kittlaus, alongside partners in the Horizon 2020 PROMISCES project.
Key takeaways:

  •  Current regulations for PMT/vPvM substances remain fragmented across different environmental compartments.
  • The paper proposes eight policy recommendations across four key fields to harmonize management.
  • We advocate for a coordinated approach to support the EU's Zero Pollution and Circular Economy Action Plans.
