Micropol 2026 Toronto

Let's talk trace contaminants!
Our colleagues have just arrived in Toronto to participate in the 14th IWA Micropol & Ecohazard Conference.
The have great contributions ready to share:

Nikolaus Weber: The Importance Of Eventflow Sampling For River Load Estimation Of Trace Contaminants
Meiqi Liu: Assessing Environmental Pathways And Risks Of PFAS To Surface Waters Using A Regionalised Emission Model
Liad Weisz: Non-target Wastewater Monitoring In An Industrial Cluster And Its Downstream Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant
Kilian Deinhammer: PFAS Removal From Riverbank Filtrate: Performance Of Pre-Loaded Granular Activated Carbon Under Peak Loading
Liad Weisz (replacing Ali Valipoor): Electrochemical Oxidation Using Boron-doped Diamond Electrode As An Effective Removal Technology For Short-chain PFAS.

On a bitter note: our colleague Ali Valipoor, an Iranian citizen and a valued member of this team, cannot attend the conference as planned. Despite starting his visa application well in advance, and despite the support of the conference organizers, he has received no answer regarding his application to enter Canada. No rejection. No explanation. Just silence.
It is saddening to see that our PhD students do not get equal opportunities in the world.

See you in Toronto. Bring your questions. And maybe spare a thought for who isn't in the room. https://lnkd.in/dks-vYsq, öffnet eine externe URL
