ARISE Jahresmeeting 2026

On Tuesday, we hosted the 2nd Annual Meeting of the ARISE project, bringing together 22 participants.

  • We were pleased to welcome our project partners from Technische Universität Wien, Medizinische Universität Wien, Medizinische Universität Graz, Karl Landsteiner Privatuniversität, and University Hospital St. Pölten, along with our industry partner (SAN Group), social science partner (ISO) and representatives from our cooperation partner AGES - Österreichische Agentur für Gesundheit und Ernährungssicherheit, as well as the Austrian ministries for health (Bundesministerium für Arbeit, Soziales, Gesundheit, Pflege und Konsumentenschutz) and environment (Bundesministerium für Land- & Forstwirtschaft, Klima- & Umweltschutz, Regionen & Wasserwirtschaft).
  • The meeting was a great opportunity to share progress, exchange ideas, and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration. It’s impressive to see the progress made in the last two years, with exciting results emerging across the project.
  • Antimicrobial resistance remains a major global health challenge, and upcoming EU requirements for wastewater monitoring in the new UWWTD highlight the need for robust, harmonized approaches. ARISE addresses this by evaluating molecular methods and optimizing workflows from sampling to data analysis to support reliable AMR surveillance in wastewater.
  • As we enter the final year, discussions focused on consolidating results, harmonizing methodologies, and translating research into real-world impact. Thank you to everyone for the insightful discussions and continued collaboration — we’re looking forward to the next steps!
