Ute Schneider

Ute Schneider is a professor, architect and urban planner. She studied at the Technical University of Stuttgart, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Delft University of Technology. In 1998, she founded the architecture and design firm zipherspaceworks in Stuttgart with her partners Ippolito, Fleitz and Weismann, specialising in urban planning, architecture, exhibition design, product design, and graphic and web design. After founding her own practice, umaoffice, in 2002, she began collaborating with KCAP in 2003 and, in 2006, founded the Zurich office with Kees Christiaanse, which she has led as a partner since 2016, now alongside two further partners. At the end of 2020, she was appointed professor in the Urban Design Research Group at TU Wien.
